Leading Manufacturer of Networking Equipment - Customer Case Study

Promwad worked with a Leading Manufacturer of Networking Equipment that needed to design a new series of Gigabit network switches with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support. The challenge was to create compact 1U metal-enclosure models in 16- and 26-port configurations for managed network use.

Promwad developed custom managed L2 Gigabit switches based on the Realtek 83xx chipset and Linux kernel, with features such as VLAN, QoS, loop detection, IGMP snooping, SNMP, and PoE support. The project also included PCB design, mechanical design, thermal analysis, embedded software development, and a web management interface, resulting in a new product series for simpler network management.
