Promwad worked with a leading developer of communication and navigation systems to design a time synchronization system for industrial and mission-critical environments. The customer needed a device that could receive GPS/GLONASS signals and deliver highly accurate time to hardware and software users via Ethernet, NTP, and PTP, while also supporting configuration and monitoring through terminal mode or a web interface.
Promwad implemented a GNSS-based time server built around an ARM microcontroller, FPGA digital correction, and a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), with support for both GPS and GLONASS receivers. The solution achieved a synchronization error of less than 1 microsecond in auto mode, met the required environmental and rack-mount specifications, and helped the customer complete certification and obtain a utility model patent.
