Lattice Semiconductor validates PQC bitstreams in 24h with Promwad

Lattice Semiconductor, a manufacturer of programmable logic devices, faced the challenge of securing long-lifecycle edge devices against future quantum computing threats while meeting evolving regulatory standards like the EU Cyber Resilience Act. They partnered with the vendor Promwad, along with SEALSQ, to create a hardware platform that provides a future-proof, cryptographically agile root of trust.

Promwad designed and built a custom PCB that integrated a Lattice FPGA with a SEALSQ TPM, creating a demonstrator that validates firmware using post-quantum cryptographic signatures at the hardware level. This solution, showcased live at Embedded World 2026, enables field-updatable security without hardware recalls, ensuring full lifecycle compliance for devices in critical infrastructure and industrial automation, thereby protecting customer revenue and reducing liability.
