Intersoft Eurasia, the operator of the DO-RA project, needed help designing compact enclosures for its portable dosimeter-radiometer devices. Promwad was brought in to create housing for DO-RA.Classic, which connects to iPhone 4/4s via a standard audio input, and for DO-RA.uni, a universal model that can connect to mobile phones, tablets, and laptops while remaining easy to use and as small as possible.

Promwad developed enclosure concepts, performed 3D modeling and prototype testing, and helped produce design documentation for mass manufacturing. The solution included a hinged cover with a hidden 3.5 mm audio jack for DO-RA.uni, resulting in ergonomic, compact, and assembly-friendly designs with reduced parts count and production cost; the DO-RA.005 prototype measured just 57 x 9 x 11 mm, demonstrating the device’s very small size.
