Promwad developed a real-time rail safety data platform for a global OEM that develops railway safety solutions. The client's challenge was that their existing architecture could not handle the massive data flows from new generations of radars and sensors, which was limiting their performance, scalability, and ability to compete in new tenders.

The solution implemented by Promwad was a compact, two-layer onboard platform combining an FPGA for real-time sensor data pre-processing with an Embedded Linux system for analytics and data flow management. This resulted in a turnkey solution that allows the client to offer combined sensor and computing packages, strengthening their position in international tenders and providing a clear path for future next-generation safety features.
