Global IT Company, an IT company focused on distributing POS equipment and providing system integration services for retail, needed embedded software for a POS fiscal printer that would comply with local fiscal laws and regulations. Promwad was brought in to support the development of the printer’s firmware and embedded software platform.

Promwad implemented full-featured POS firmware based on embedded Linux and Buildroot. The solution included a thermal printhead driver, web-based configuration and initial setup, remote firmware updates, fiscal business logic, and communication modules for both the user’s PC and a tax authority server, resulting in a compliant and feature-rich POS printing system.
