Preview of the European Operator in Pharmaceutical Air Freight Case Study

European operator in pharmaceutical air freight builds an STM32MP25 telemetry gateway with Promwad in 24h

Promwad was engaged by a European operator in pharmaceutical air freight to architect a next-generation in-flight telemetry gateway for its temperature-controlled cargo containers. The client needed a robust embedded system to collect sensor data and transmit it via cellular networks, all while meeting stringent aviation environmental standards (RTCA DO-160) and guaranteeing deterministic operation and in-flight radio shutdown.

Promwad delivered a full-scope architecture and engineering package built around a heterogeneous STM32MP25 system. Their solution combined FreeRTOS on a Cortex-M33 core for deterministic sensor polling with Linux on a Cortex-A35 core, integrated a dedicated cellular module for reliable connectivity and controlled radio shutdown, and provided a complete, costed test and certification plan for DO-160 compliance. The result was an execution-ready design that validated all constraints, locked in key decisions early, and gave the client a clear, risk-mitigated path to a certified product.
