Binoculars Design Company worked with Promwad to develop a structural enclosure design for a low-cost binoculars product aimed at sports and public-event viewing in daylight and dusk. The main challenge was to combine a compact, comfortable hand-held form with bright colors, a special logo area, and splash protection, while also supporting a discrete 2.5:5 variable magnification mechanism.

Promwad created an original pushbutton-based magnification switching mechanism and designed the enclosure around compact, rounded forms with mostly plastic parts to keep costs down. The solution used ABS for outer parts and polyamide/polyformaldehyde for structural components, with painted finishes, soft-touch coatings, and only essential metal parts. As a result, Promwad delivered a low-cost, easy-to-assemble binocular enclosure in batch production, with five molds used for plastics and flexible color options across production batches.
