A Promwad Case Study
The customer, a developer of VoIP systems, faced the challenge of developing a complex analog telephone adapter (ATA) based on the Blackfin BF527 processor. They engaged the vendor, Promwad, to handle the full-cycle development of this Linux-based device, which required multiple ports including FXS, FXO, and Ethernet.
Promwad delivered a complete hardware and software solution, which included optimizing the bill of materials to reduce costs, designing the PCB, and developing the firmware using a uCLinux distribution. The result was a fully functional VoIP modem adapter with a large number of available ports and a low end-product cost for mass production.
