Promwad worked with American Developer of Innovative Products and Services, an American company creating innovative products and services for mobile communication devices, to develop a compact onboard vehicle data logger. The customer needed a small OBD II-based device for vehicle diagnostics, route tracking, passenger voice recording, and wireless transmission of data to a control center.

Promwad delivered the embedded hardware and software solution, including a Linux-based firmware stack, GPS and OBD logging modules, audio recording, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, and a Windows XP configuration utility with a graphical interface. The result was a reliable, fault-tolerant onboard logger with secure data handling, production testing software, and support for multiple OBD protocols; Promwad also corrected a Linux kernel storage driver issue during development.
