AK-Systems, a Russian company specializing in terminal technologies, needed help developing a new thin client for client-server environments, including hardware, enclosure, software, and certification work. Promwad supported the project by designing the AK-1100 thin client platform and helping deliver a compact terminal solution with the required peripheral, security, and remote-management capabilities.

Promwad implemented the thin client on a Marvell-based hardware platform with Linux software, remote administration tools, and support for RDP, Citrix, and VMware terminal sessions. The result was a compact, passively cooled device with low manufacturing cost, VESA mounting, optional Wi‑Fi, and broad deployment suitability for offices, banking, retail, and call centers, while meeting the key performance and interface requirements outlined by AK-Systems.
