Advanced Technology Solutions Company - Customer Case Study

Advanced Technology Solutions Company (Parrot) needed a compact network device to collect data from its Bluetooth sensors and send it to the cloud for the Flower Power smart plant sensor product. To meet this challenge, Promwad was engaged to help develop a low-power, small-form-factor device with BLE connectivity and support for mobile app testing.

Promwad delivered a solution based on a TI Sitara Cortex-A8 platform with Wi‑Fi/Bluetooth 4.0, DDR3, NAND flash, Linux, u-Boot, Qt, and BlueZ. The team also created a modern shock-resistant enclosure and mobile apps for iPhone and Android to validate BLE interaction. The prototype successfully passed impact, environmental, safety, and EMI tests, with low power consumption of about 1 watt and a PCB-soldered antenna that helped reduce component costs.
