A European security systems market leader commissioned Promwad to design a complex embedded fire alarm system. The challenge involved creating both the hardware and software for a modular platform consisting of seven printed circuit boards to be installed inside telecommunication cabinets, requiring advanced security features for industrial safety.

Promwad engineered a solution using STMicroelectronics' STM32 microcontrollers and NXP's iMX6 processors, with software developed in Qt Creator. Their team designed a custom RS-485 communication protocol and delivered a fully functional system without an enclosure. The result was a high-quality fire alarm system built with readily available components, featuring a high degree of network splitting and modern CAD design, which successfully met the client's requirements for facility and personnel safety.
