Southern Illinois University School of Medicine unifies two sites for 80+ editors with Promet Source

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, a leading medical research and educational institution, required a solution to manage its distinct educational and clinical web presences cohesively. Their challenge involved creating two separate but integrated sites from the same code base, managing a complex content migration, and implementing advanced search functionality. They engaged vendor Promet Source to address these needs using the Provus® platform.

Promet Source implemented a Drupal-based solution featuring a flexible design system and the Domain Access module to unify the sites while maintaining their distinct identities. The implementation of Solr Search provided robust filtering capabilities. The project was a success, earning a 2022 Web Excellence Award and a 2021 Silver Davey Award. The new website effectively serves both audiences and provides an intuitive content management experience for over 80 editors.
