The customer, one of the largest retail pharmacy chains in the US, faced a significant challenge following a major merger. Its disparate IT systems prevented pharmacists from accessing a real-time, unified view of patient prescription and benefit data across its thousands of stores and clinics. To achieve its new health and wellness vision, the company partnered with IBM and Prolifics to build a highly ambitious and reliable enterprise service layer (ESL) solution.

Prolifics architected and implemented the scalable ESL using key IBM products like DataPower, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (WSRR). This solution consolidated patient data into a single portal, processing over 718 million annual transactions with 99.9% uptime.
