Fortune 1000 company, a publicly held NASDAQ-100 business serving about 800,000 organizations, needed to meet a strict deadline for PCI compliance in order to continue processing credit card payments without risking fines or service denial. It also had to protect more than 1.5 million transactions per year while keeping card data accessible for its operations. Prolifics was brought in to help, using IBM WebSphere DataPower as part of the overall approach.

Prolifics implemented a PCI Hub solution that offloaded credit card data to a third-party payment provider, tokenized sensitive information, and used DataPower as a secure “black box” to route and transform transactions between internal AS400 and .NET systems and the external processor. The result exceeded PCI requirements, reduced breach risk, and enabled the company to scale more easily; preliminary testing handled 45,000 card transactions in 8 minutes.
