BMI Healthcare Elevates Patient Care with Integrated Hybrid Cloud

BMI Healthcare, the UK’s largest independent hospital group, needed to modernize its legacy ClearSpan integration platform to keep pace with rapidly growing clinical and business data and to support new cloud-based SaaS applications. The company turned to Prolifics for help building an integrated hybrid cloud environment using IBM Integration Bus, IBM MQ, and the IBM Healthcare Productivity Pack.

Prolifics replaced ClearSpan with a more scalable and flexible integration engine, implemented BMI Healthcare’s first SaaS integration for the iQemo oncology e-prescription service, and added custom services for secure, real-time data exchange. As a result, BMI Healthcare improved integration across its core systems, cut message errors by a factor of 5 across 400,000 daily messages, consolidated servers, and reduced operating costs by about 80%.
