Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer KG, a German brewery, required a highly flexible production data acquisition (PDA) system for its new bottling plant to improve operational transparency, product quality, and decision-making. The challenge was to integrate data from numerous sources, including machine controllers and inspection systems, to manage a large number of articles and enable efficient production planning. ProLeiT implemented a comprehensive PDA system that featured decentralized article switching and fault assignment via touch panels, ensuring reliable data acquisition from both PLC and PC-based controllers using their Plant Connect iT software. The solution provided technical reporting via MS Excel and integrated with production planning for real-time order tracking. This allowed Warsteiner to achieve precise documentation of material usage and wastage. The results included optimized plant performance and a significant reduction in running-in time for new facilities, leading to lower personnel costs. Based on this success, Warsteiner plans to equip its other plants with the identical ProLeiT system.
