Ringnes AS, a leading Norwegian brewery, faced significant production challenges due to unreliable, standalone control systems with problematic interfaces at its old facility. This led to process upsets and delays in wort preparation and fermentation. During a major relocation, Ringnes partnered with automation vendor ProLeiT and its joint venture Promaxx GmbH to implement a complete, plant-wide automation solution to ensure high-quality beer production and avoid further productivity losses.

ProLeiT, through Promaxx, provided the brewmaxx process control system, which offered centralized, modular control and visualization for the entire brewing process. The solution was successfully commissioned within an extremely tight two-week timeframe, integrating all plant units. This provided Ringnes with reliable data exchange, flexible plant operation from multiple locations, and greatly improved utilization of its fermenting and storage cellars, ultimately securing long-term production quality and efficiency.
