Ybarra, a long-standing Spanish food producer, faced the challenge of increasing the flexibility of its sauce production to swiftly adapt to market demands. They needed to reduce set-up times, ensure full batch traceability for quality assurance, and allow operators to independently create and modify recipes without complex programming. To address this, Ybarra partnered with vendor ProLeiT to implement its Plant iT process control system at its new facility in Dos Hermanas.

The solution from ProLeiT involved fully automating the complex production process, which combined both batch and continuous segments. The key feature of the Plant iT system was its parameterized recipe editor, which allowed Ybarra's operators to easily create new recipes and adjust processes via a standard user interface without altering the underlying PLC code. This implementation provided Ybarra with significant results, including reduced downtimes, increased production flexibility, the ability to quickly launch new products, and guaranteed adherence to strict quality standards, giving them a decisive competitive advantage.
