Glockenbrot Bäckerei, a major German bakery and affiliate of the REWE Group, faced the challenge of modernizing its automation to more efficiently control its extensive production processes and achieve full traceability. The company needed a solution that could seamlessly integrate with REWE's higher-level ERP system. They partnered with vendor ProLeiT to implement its Plant iT process control system.

The solution from ProLeiT centered on the modular and parameter-based Plant iT system, featuring the Batch iT module for recipe control. This provided consistent, system-wide automation, seamless ERP integration, and full IFS-compliant traceability. The retrofit was completed within a strict 12-hour window. The results include significantly more stable and user-friendly operation, the ability to manage over 250 recipes, increased plant capacity, and a highly transparent database for tracking all production steps.
