To defend its market position, it required a fully integrated system to connect shop floor data with its corporate SAP software. The company partnered with automation vendor ProLeiT to implement a new production data acquisition (PDA) system.

ProLeiT implemented its Plant Acquis iT production data management system over a three-phase project. This solution provided seamless, real-time data collection from packaging machines, integrated via Industrial Ethernet and TCP/IP, and established a critical interface with Danone's SAP R/3 and APO systems. The results provided optimal transparency, allowing Danone to exactly schedule orders, accurately trace batches, minimize losses, and measure efficiency factors plant-wide.
