A ProLeiT Case Study
Carlsberg, a major European brewery in Fredericia, Denmark, faced the challenge of upgrading its process control system to make its complex beer production more transparent, safe, and user-friendly. The goal was to execute this significant re-automation project from malt delivery to bottling with minimal production downtime. To address this, they partnered with vendor ProLeiT to implement its brewmaxx process control system.
ProLeiT's solution involved a carefully managed, two-phase project to integrate brewmaxx. The implementation delivered exceptional results, restarting over 300 programs within a strict timeline and dramatically exceeding production targets. The brewhouse was back online in just six days, producing 46 brews in the first week instead of the planned 20. ProLeiT's system also introduced features like the "beer tree" and "CIP matrix" which enhanced process safety, optimized tank allocation, and reduced unnecessary cleaning, saving both time and costs for Carlsberg.
