Italian brewery Birra Castello faced a challenge at its historic Pedavena plant, where an outdated process control system was lacking in future safety, upgrade capability, and efficiency. To advance its digitalization efforts, Birra Castello partnered with vendor ProLeiT and system integrator PSM to implement the brewmaxx process control system.

ProLeiT provided technical support and expert advice to PSM for a gradual, four-phase implementation of brewmaxx, starting with the fermenting cellar and storage tanks. This approach allowed for integration without production downtime and gave operators time to familiarize themselves with the new system. The solution increased process transparency, enabled intuitive operation, and introduced a new recipe system to maintain high quality. The successful partnership has well-equipped Birra Castello for future challenges and expansion.
