West Corporation, a global provider of communication and network infrastructure services, needed to build a new big data lake while retiring Splunk and other legacy data warehouse tools. To support this transition, West worked with ProKarma, bringing in experienced Hadoop engineers and admins and using Cloudera Distribution of Hadoop as the core platform.

ProKarma helped design, deploy, and support multiple Hadoop clusters, migrate data pipelines and BI content, and run workshops to upskill West’s internal team. The pilot IVR analytics use case was completed in six weeks on Cloudera CDH 5 using HDFS, Impala, and Tableau, and the project helped West achieve nearly $3 million in savings while securing a multi-year managed services partnership with ProKarma.
