Balancing supply and demand for a smart grid integrator

Smart Grid Integrator, an energy and utilities company, needed to redesign its smart grid management system to better balance supply and demand, especially for demand-side management and load shifting. It turned to ProKarma, whose utility industry experience and expertise in smart grid integration helped support the modernization of its demand-and-response management product offering.

ProKarma worked with the client’s offshore team to redesign, develop, and test a new system built on Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, ZigBee Mesh Network, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The solution enabled providers to shift demand by engaging opt-in customers with smart plugs, controllers, and smart meters, while also supporting buyback of off-grid energy; it modernized the architecture, helped build the data warehouse, and supported hiring and training internal teams over an eight-month engagement.
