MEDHOST, a healthcare solutions provider serving more than 1,000 facilities, needed to prepare for Meaningful Use Stage 3 and ensure patients could access their EHR data through view, download, and transmit capabilities. To meet the 2017 voluntary compliance target ahead of the 2018 mandate, MEDHOST worked with ProKarma on API enablement and strategy, including architecture design and validation for API-based EHR access.

ProKarma helped MEDHOST evaluate and select an API management platform, ultimately choosing CA API Gateway and Portal, and then supported implementation, configuration, security best practices, and FHIR transaction delivery. As a result, MEDHOST successfully deployed its solution a full year early and achieved Meaningful Use Stage 3 certification, becoming one of the first organizations to do so.
