West Hertfordshire Hospitals have a new working philosophy since using Projectplace

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which manages four sites including Watford General, faced a complex, multi-organisation reprovisioning programme (a £323M PFI for Watford plus ~£350M of related Health Park work) with geographically dispersed teams, strict document control needs and PRINCE2 governance requirements. To address these challenges the Trust selected Planview ProjectPlace’s Projectplace as its web-based project management and document repository to support both major PFI projects and routine capital portfolios.

Planview ProjectPlace implemented Projectplace to centralise documentation, enforce version control and enable recorded discussions and audit trails accessible to controlled supply-chain members. As a result, the Trust reduced internal storage requirements, adopted a remote-working philosophy for the project team, improved stakeholder communication and now uses logged access and commentary for statutory audit purposes, with further financial savings expected during the PFI procurement phases.
