Case Study: Swedish National Archives achieves efficient, secure nationwide digitisation and project control with Planview ProjectPlace

A Planview ProjectPlace Case Study

Preview of the Swedish National Archives Case Study

The Swedish National Archives chooses Projectplace for Europe’s largest digitisation project

The Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet) faced a major organisational challenge after merging central and regional authorities: managing a rapidly growing portfolio of projects across almost 20 sites, meeting stringent security requirements, and coordinating one of Europe’s largest digitisation efforts. To address this, the Swedish National Archives selected the cloud-based project collaboration tool Planview ProjectPlace.

Planview ProjectPlace provided a single, secure platform for cross-site and external collaboration, with standardized project stages, access rights and built-in reporting; it has been in use for about three years to coordinate work such as Digisam and a joint e‑service with the Swedish Tax Agency. The solution has enabled planning and tracking of the digitisation of hundreds of shelf‑kilometres and millions of scanned documents (supporting a ~2 PB digital archive growing ~0.5 PB/year), improved process control, delivered weekly project visibility and helped the Swedish National Archives save time and reduce costs.
