Oxfam Novib, the Dutch arm of the global Oxfam confederation, needed better oversight and coordination for its many concurrent marketing and fundraising projects. The organisation found its previous project management approach did not provide a clear, visual overview of project status or responsibilities, causing inefficiency and heavy reliance on email. Planview ProjectPlace was rolled out first in marketing and traffic and then to ICT (enabling ICT to coordinate external contractors in a single space). The platform centralized communication, replaced many email threads and introduced social planning features — automatic reminders, a visual timeline and automatic reporting requests — that improved transparency, sped up coordination and saved time. Staff adoption was rapid and cooperation noticeably improved shortly after deployment, delivering clear efficiency gains across departments.
