Mentor Graphics Connects Global Teams and Improves Project Communication

Mentor Graphics, a global Electronic Design Automation leader with a 250‑member IT organization supporting 5,500 employees across 29 countries, faced disconnected teams, inconsistent SharePoint use, and project work tracked in spreadsheets and email. That left the PMO without a single source of truth, poor reporting and resource visibility, and no portfolio alignment, so the CIO selected Planview ProjectPlace (Projectplace) as the modern collaboration tool to address these challenges.

Planview ProjectPlace was implemented using templates, Kanban boards, mobile apps, alerts and rich reporting to centralize task management, eliminate email/PowerPoint status chasing, and enable real‑time team participation. Adoption grew to 437 active users, Mentor now manages 414 projects (including 127 “non‑projects”), and the organization gained consistent reporting, improved communication and resource visibility, and a foundation to launch Planview Enterprise.
