IMI’s Group Supply Chain faced the challenge of running cross-division projects with team members spread around the world and no single IT infrastructure, making document ownership and sharing difficult. To address this, IMI adopted Planview ProjectPlace’s collaboration platform (Projectplace), initially using the Document Archive to tackle duplication and outdated information.

Planview ProjectPlace expanded IMI’s use to include Online Meeting, Planning & Tracking and templates, plus a train‑the‑trainer rollout. The solution reduced duplication and the risk of outdated documents, improved project control and visibility, saved time by reusing templates, and enabled information sharing with suppliers to help lower stock levels and lead times.
