BSkyB, the UK pay-TV broadcaster, needed to deliver Sky Studios—a complex, three‑floor broadcast and post‑production facility with a sophisticated Sony‑designed technical fit‑out—within a three‑year deadline. To provide a flexible, usable collaboration and document control solution for more than 200 people across internal teams and external partners, BSkyB selected Planview ProjectPlace (Projectplace) to manage and share crucial design documents for the Technical Fit‑out programme.

Planview ProjectPlace implemented an online collaboration and document review/management platform that centralized secure access, improved version control and change management, and enabled real‑time coordination among designers, project managers, engineers and integrators. The tool’s speed, ease of use and proactive support helped BSkyB deliver Sky Studios on time and was rolled out to other major programmes—including the Formula 1 channel launch in March 2012—resulting in faster sign‑offs, better document control and greater cross‑team transparency.
