Busuu, the London-based language learning company, needed a better way to manage career growth as it scaled past 100 employees. With Progression, Busuu rebuilt its career framework from scratch with input from leadership, managers, and non-managers, creating a simple structure and regular check-ins that managers actually embraced. The impact was strong: engagement around career growth improved, Busuu moved above Peakon’s benchmark in that area for the first time in a long time, and managers even asked to run more check-ins than required. Progression also helped shift the company’s view of performance and development by making the process easy and low-admin.
