Update Texware Modernizes Progress-Based Application Deploying a More Sophisticated .Net UI

update texware, a long-time Progress Software partner, needed to modernize its textile ERP system, texware/CS, to improve customer satisfaction and support growth. The company wanted to move from an older Progress OpenEdge version to a newer release and replace its dated interface with a more modern Microsoft .NET GUI.

Progress Software Professional Services and Consultingwerk helped update texware migrate to OpenEdge 10.2 B and build the new .NET interface using Consultingwerk’s WinKit framework. The project delivered a prototype in two months and the full GUI in four months, while preserving the existing code base. The modernized system reduced task steps from five or ten screens to one or two, and nearly all customers have moved to the .NET version, gaining improved productivity, efficiency, and lower costs.
