The Resource Network needed to tie together data from multiple best-of-breed systems, including FileMaker, SQL Server, Outlook, and Salesforce.com, to create “synergy point” applications that could connect information across organizations and sectors. The challenge was integrating hosted and cloud-based data so it could work seamlessly with ODBC-compliant applications and deliver a unified view of contacts, events, opportunities, and global location data.

Progress Software provided Progress® DataDirect® OpenAccess™ for ODBC for Salesforce datasource to create the real-time connectivity between Salesforce.com and The Resource Network’s FileMaker repository. With this solution in place, The Resource Network could combine data from 11,200 companies, 12,300 contacts across 205 countries, and 800 opportunities, giving clients a richer multidimensional perspective and completing the final piece needed to make its system work together.
