A Progress Software Case Study
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services needed a faster, more flexible way to keep up with changing policy and reduce manual eligibility work. Using Progress Software’s Progress Corticon business rules management system, the agency moved hard-coded rules out of legacy systems and into a more adaptable rules platform.
Progress Software implemented Progress Corticon to automate eligibility determination, alert prioritization, and other case actions, while enabling business users to manage rules in plain language. The results were significant: rule changes now take hours to days instead of weeks to months, caseworker backlogs were reduced, overpayments decreased, and one batch process handled 2.6 million records in 43 minutes at more than 1,000 decision sets per second.
