Power & Tel Takes Core Applications Mobile to Enable Smart Decisions in the Field

Power & Tel, a premier wholesale distributor in the telecommunications industry, faced a challenge when its customers demanded mobile applications for real-time asset tracking in the field. They needed to extend their existing Progress OpenEdge infrastructure to develop these new apps quickly and efficiently without overhauling their current systems.

Progress Software provided the solution with its Telerik Platform and Kendo UI. This allowed Power & Tel's developers to build two cross-platform mobile applications, integrating them with their OpenEdge backend via REST services. The results were significant: development time for projects was cut from an estimated nine months down to just three months.
