A Progress Software Case Study
Pacer Group, a distributor and manufacturer of wire, cable, and electrical parts, needed to preserve fast access to raw data after moving to a cloud-based data management setup. The shift slowed key processes, especially barcode and label creation, and some cloud tools blocked access to the data needed to keep production moving. Progress Software’s DataDirect was brought in to help Pacer Group get behind the user interface and reconnect to the data.
Progress Software implemented DataDirect to integrate with systems including Salesforce, Rootstock, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access, giving Pacer Group direct access to the raw data used for labels, barcodes, and reporting. The result was a 25% to 50% increase in speed for these processes and estimated savings of more than $100,000 by avoiding consultant costs, while also improving customer service and real-time responsiveness.
