A Progress Software Case Study
M.Recht Accessories, a long-established Australian trims and accessories wholesaler, wanted to expand into the consumer market by launching an online store while integrating it with its existing back-office systems. The company chose Progress Software technology, including Progress-based Rose ERP for its web applications, because it needed a reliable e-commerce solution that could work seamlessly with its current Progress-powered Commerce@Work environment.
Progress Software, working with Wild Rose Information Services and IT Smart, implemented Rose ERP integrated with Commerce@Work and SonicMQ to connect the website with office functions and provide real-time processing. The new site went live in September 2008, averaged about 40 consumer orders per month, and also attracted wholesale customers online, while reducing administrative overhead and ensuring accurate, automatic pricing and business rules for different customer types.
