A Progress Software Case Study
Killik & Co, a wealth planning and advisory brokerage operating in more than 30 markets, needed a way to connect its MongoDB event data with its SQL Server-based CRM for real-time reporting and faster client summaries. Before the change, brokers had to wait 15–20 seconds for a client summary, and the IT team lacked a seamless way to access data across both systems.
Progress Software implemented Progress DataDirect for ODBC to bridge MongoDB and SQL Server, exposing MongoDB data as normalized relational tables for querying, sorting, and aggregation. The solution went live in April 2015 and delivered major time and cost savings, enabling client contact summaries to load in 50 milliseconds, new connections to be configured in as little as an afternoon, and reporting teams to consolidate data seamlessly for better analysis and management reporting.
