Vermont Systems, a long-time Progress Software partner, needed to meet growing market demand for a web-based solution and keep its RecTrac recreation and parks management software competitive. To do that, Vermont Systems turned to Progress Software and its OpenEdge technology as it worked to move from a client-based product to a SaaS offering.
Progress Software Professional Services helped Vermont Systems execute a phased modernization, providing mentoring and a framework to reuse existing code while reworking the application for the web. The project improved development efficiency, enabled real-time customer access to operational information, and strengthened Vermont Systems’ competitive position with both on-premise and hosted offerings; Vermont Systems was already hosting web servers for eight customers and expected more hosting deals to follow.
