Foxwoods, a major casino and resort, needed to gain better insight into their patrons' non-gaming activities like dining and entertainment to improve customer service. Their challenge was connecting their UNIX-based data warehouse to important Windows-based data stored in Microsoft SQL Server. To bridge this gap, they turned to Progress Software and implemented its DataDirect Connect for ODBC driver.

The solution from Progress Software provided near-immediate connectivity, allowing Foxwoods to access and analyze data from their SQL Server databases directly from their SAS analytics platform on UNIX. This integration was deployed quickly and worked without issues across different system versions.
