FDM4, a provider of ERP, warehouse management, e-commerce, and CRM solutions for distributors and manufacturers, needed to modernize its legacy, complex ERP system to keep pace with changing technology, security requirements, and customer expectations for a more modern user experience. The company had relied on Progress Software and Progress OpenEdge for more than 20 years, and turned to Progress Software products including OpenEdge 11.6 and Kendo UI to support its modernization effort.

Progress Software helped FDM4 upgrade its ERP backend to OpenEdge 11.6 and rebuild the frontend with Kendo UI, enabling a browser-based, mobile-friendly experience across thousands of screens in about three weeks. The result was faster development, easier upgrades, improved productivity, consistent UI across applications, and better access to data on any device, with FDM4 modernizing about 2,500 programs and 2,000 screens and gaining a stronger competitive position.
