DB Schenker, an international transportation logistics company, faced challenges with its enterprise solution running on older hardware and a complex setup. They were unable to effectively track the health of their Progress OpenEdge databases and servers and needed a path to cloud migration. They partnered with Progress Software and its Professional Services team for assistance.

Progress Software implemented a solution that involved migrating databases and servers to a more stable Azure environment. They utilized Progress OpenEdge Pro2 tools and conducted capacity planning. The results were significant: the migration of 23 databases and 20 servers enabled batch processing and report generation that was three to four times faster. Server backup time was drastically reduced from five-six hours to just one-and-a-half hours.
