Cigna, a global health service company, needed to reduce complexity and improve the quality of its health insurance claim routing process in compliance with HIPAA 837. The company wanted a way to handle claims more accurately and quickly while keeping up with changing regulatory requirements, using Progress Software’s Progress Corticon business rules management system.
Progress Software implemented a revised claim intake system with Progress Corticon to automate business decision support and separate rules from application code. As a result, Cigna improved the accuracy and timeliness of claim routing, reduced maintenance and support effort, and became more agile in responding to business and regulatory changes.
