A Progress Software Case Study
The Child and Family Wellness Shops and Clinics (CFW) in Kenya, part of The HealthStore Foundation, needed a way to replace paper records and better manage patient, inventory, financial, and payment data across its microclinics in low-connectivity, low-cost environments. Progress Software, through Progress® Pacific™, was brought in with Carego International to support a practical healthcare IT platform for these underserved communities.
Progress Software’s Progress Pacific-enabled solution let CFW use Android tablets and smartphones to store data locally and sync it when mobile service was available, while also supporting patient registration, visit history, inventory tracking, and third-party payments. The result was a simple, low-cost system that improved access to fast, reliable data, reduced paper handling, and helped CFW scale toward hundreds of clinics while serving more than 4 million people across Kenya.
