California Association of Realtors - Customer Case Study

The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) needed a better way to help members choose the right real-estate forms from roughly 150 approved options, a task made difficult by complex transaction types, frequent rule changes, and the risk of fines, license loss, and liability if forms were missed. C.A.R., working through RE FormsNet, turned to Progress Software and its Progress Corticon BRMS to automate guidance for its forms advisory service.

Progress Software implemented Corticon to capture legal rules, model them for business users, and deploy them as web services connected to a web-based interface. The solution was built in about five months with a small team, beta-tested by nearly 200 users, and rolled out to almost 200,000 users. Results included reduced legal risk, improved service, lower hardware costs, easier maintenance, and a tenfold gain in developer productivity.
