AKIOMA Software, which builds CRM systems for medium-sized companies handling highly complex quotes and product configurations, needed a way to manage thousands of sub-orders, interdependencies, and customer-specific rules without slowing down releases. Using Progress Software’s platform, including Progress OpenEdge and Progress Corticon, AKIOMA aimed to keep its quoting, product management, and offer creation processes flexible and efficient.

Progress Software helped AKIOMA separate business rules from the core application, making it easier to customize customer logic without changing code and allowing faster upgrades. The result was greater productivity and speed: AKIOMA said OpenEdge was about five times more productive than Java or .NET alternatives, while Corticon reduced development effort, supported dynamic BPM, and helped speed time-to-market. Customers also reported fewer errors, faster quotation processes, and lower resource use.
