ABB, a global leader in power and automation technologies, needed to replace a 15-plus-year-old legacy CMS that was costly to maintain, lacked a web interface, and forced teams to code HTML by hand. The company also needed a modern, developer-friendly platform that could support its growing web presence across 111 websites. Progress Software’s Sitefinity CMS was selected as the .NET-based solution.

Progress Software implemented Sitefinity’s multi-site capabilities to rebuild ABB’s 111 websites, including country sites, solution sites, intranets, and ecommerce portals, in less than a year. The new platform made content editing faster and more accurate, added built-in mobile support, and is expected to reduce hosting and infrastructure costs. ABB also highlighted the close collaboration with Progress Software on customization, development, and bug fixes as a major long-term benefit.
